Hack-A-Thon II 02/06/2010

We’ll be holding a second hackathon 2:00pm-9:00pm Saturday February 6th. A couple projects we’ll be working on are our big near space balloon event and some beer brewing and bottling. As always bring your projects, bring your Arduinos, and bring your excitement!

We’ll be holding it at Jay’s house again, if you’re interested in attending and did not come last time, please contact info@workshop88.com for the address.

Let us know if you’re coming and discuss potential projects on the forum post.

Hack-a-thon this Sunday

Despite the incorrect and misleading post from earlier this week, the Hack-a-thon is still going on this Sunday (the 17th) at my house.  Fire me an email at jmargalus[at]workshop88[dot]com if you need directions.

Amongst other things, we’ll be making tabletop power supplies out of old computer power supplies.  I’ve got some beer brewing kits that Russ and I will be working on (if anyone wants to check it out), and a few other projects I’d love to spend part of the day working on.  Feel free to bring whatever you’ve got!

Public Planning Meeting 1/18/2009

Workshop 88 will be meeting in the Boilerhouse Cafe at North Central College (29 N Loomis St, Naperville, IL 60540) again on January 18.  I know we talked about perhaps not having the meeting, being that it’s on MLK Day, but after some discussion we decided to keep the meetings as regular as possible.

This meeting will be open to the public, and we’ll be discussing, amongst other things:

  • The location search
  • How the Hack-a-thon went!
  • Recruiting more members
  • The (sort of) Secret Challenge we talked about at the last meeting

We’ll have another post up soon on the Hack-a-thon (remember, it’s this coming Saturday!), but that’s all for now.

I Made a CueCat Decrypter in PHP

This is a repost from my blog:

I wrote a :CueCat decrypter for Workshop 88 based on the following scheme:

0 C3 n Z
1 CN j Y
2 Cx f X
3 Ch b W
4 D3 D 3
5 DN z 2
6 Dx v 1
7 Dh r 0
8 E3 T 7
9 EN P 6

You should check it out here, where I’ve also included the process.php file for download.

I’ll be working on additional features in the future, including product listing and price comparisons.
