We finally have a space to stretch our legs and spread out. The massive public space will be outfitted with comfortable seating and a wireless connection so our members can read, chat, work on crafts, have meetings and bring the projector to watch a movie, or play vintage video games. The space will also be easily converted to a classroom for presentations and guest speakers.
The workshop space will be divided in a carpentry and heavy duty space for projects that require power tools, and an electronics and art workshop, for projects that require light soldering and paint.
The back room will be the W88 medialab. It will feature padded walls for sound isolation. Podcasts and video projects will be produced in this space, and will feature space for editing, monitoring and mixing audio and video projects. The space may also be used as a photography studio.
Come to our public meetings to check out our space, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a visit. Let us know what kind of projects you’re interested in making, and consider joining our community.
It took no time to plan out the future of the new space. and rip out the carpet in the future workspace.
We can look forward to a nice hang out area with couches, craft tables, and computers; carpentry, and electronics work stations, and a media lab for podcasting and video projects.
We’re pretty proud of our new location, it’s smack in the middle of Downtown Glen Ellyn, in the same block we have a bakery, a Starbucks, a pizza shop, the Glen Arts movie theater, yet out of the way and secluded enough to ensure privacy.
Visit us soon, come to the meetings, or email email@example.com to schedule a visit.
Celebrate with us the inaugural meeting in our brand new space.
It’s bigger, and longer, it’s in the middle of downtown Glen Ellyn, yet completely out of the way.
The new space is a bit tricky to find for those who don’t know already 🙂 It’s address is on main st. in Glen Ellyn, but the actual access is off of pennsylvania. There is a parking lot with a little park on the south side of pennsylvania, just east of main st. (right past a glitzy cafe called “Honey”) and the alley way in the back is the access to our space (look down for the red awning).
Bring your own chair.

June 28 (that’s today) at 6:30 PM.
Our lease at the space on Quincy is up at the end of June, but we’re happy to announce that we’re moving to a much larger space that actually has 3 distinct areas, and has space for tools!
We’re still finalizing everything, but we should be ready to start moving in the next week or so.
We’ll post photos and stuff once we start moving in.
