Jim Williams, our resident PCB expert, will lead this overview of how to start working with the EAGLE software package at an introductory level.  EAGLE is a PCB (printed circuit board) layout design software package which is useful for laying out your own circuit boards. This class is an overview of the software that will help you start to learn how to use it on your own. The class will introduce the  schematic capture and board layout features of the software and touch on custom library part creation.

What you need to bring to this class: A laptop computer with EAGLE 6.2 (the free version) pre-installed.

What you will get from the class: You will learn how to find parts to put into a schematic. You will learn how to draw parts that are not pre-made to put into a schematic. You will get experience in using EAGLE to layout a printed circuit board ready for etching.
