Workshop 88′s First Full Public Meeting

…went really well.  I’ve just got some pictures to post, and some information to confirm.

First, pictures from the event:

Thanks everyone for coming out!  We had 15 guys total show up, which made for a great first meeting.  If you haven’t done so already, hop on our wiki and create a profile for yourself so we can all get to know each other a little better (I’m guilty of not having done this yet). We’ve also got a Facebook page and a Twitter account.

At the end of the meeting, everyone got CueCats and, as I said, I’ve got no idea what to do with mine.  If you want to work on a project with me, shoot me a message @JayRM on Twitter or e-mail me.

Regarding our web presence, I’ve got Mike, Kevin, Sean, Adam, and Brannon down to work on that.  I’ll start divvying up the  responsibilities we have and we can get together on the Wiki to see who wants to do what.

And FINALLY, we’ll be doing a little bowling at Brunswick Zone (map) next Wednesday, December 2nd at 6:30pm.  Contact me using the above information if you’re interested so we can get an idea of how many lanes to reserve. Hopefully, some of the people who couldn’t make it this Monday can come out, meet us, and drink some dranks.

Thanks again for a great first meeting!

EDIT: We’ve gone ahead and created a Facebook group for Workshop 88.  Please apply to it so we can more easily invite everyone to future events.

  1. It might help to create events in Facebook, it’s a more organized attendance system. And it doesn’t stop anyone who doesn’t have it from including themselves through email.

  2. Sweet! Looks like it was a great event. I know that the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill NC area was chomping at the bit for such a space. Fortunately a TechShop franchise opened up and has become a social hub in no time. Let me know how I can help, OK? I know the ShopBot people…
